Historic day as Juneteenth becomes a new federal holiday

Today, President Biden signed into law the recognition of Juneteenth (celebrated on June 19th in honor of the emancipation of African-Americans who had been enslaved in the United States) as a federal holiday.  As the 19th of June falls on Saturday this year, the holiday will be observed on Friday, June 18th. 

City Offices will be closed tomorrow Friday, June 18th in observation of this new holiday. 

The Splash Park will be open, and the City Pool will have open swimming from 1-4 p.m. tomorrow.

The Transfer Station and Recycling Center will be open tomorrow from 8:30 a.m. until noon.
