Livingston is a pet-friendly town. But there are a few rules and regulations to ensure that the city is also people-friendly.

Pet Licenses
Dogs and cats require pet licenses within the city limits. Licenses are due January 1st. every year. To obtain a license, proof of current rabies vaccination must be presented at the City Office located at 220 E. Park Street.

Pet licenses are required for two reasons. First, help return lost pets to their homes as quickly as possible. Second, to ensure that all pets are properly vaccinated against rabies.

*Limit of two dogs per household*
**Limit of  six altered cats or two unaltered cats per household**

Citations can be issued for non-compliance and pets can be confiscated.

Leash Law
Miles Park (excluding the ball fields), along the riverbank, Bozeman Trail Connector, Mayors Landing and Water Plant Park are places provided for dogs to be off-leash. Off-leash pets are required to be under voice control in these areas. All other parts of the city require leashes. 

Please No dogs are allowed in Sacajawea Park.

Spay and Neuter Clinics
Spay and neuter clinics are held every few months to help pet owners defray the cost of this expense. Please check periodically for one in our area.
