Sewer Department

Wipes clog pipes

Livingston’s Sewer Department provides maintenance for 43.3 miles of sewer mains and lift stations throughout town. This infrastructure delivers an average of one million gallons of wastewater a day to the Water Reclamation Facility. Many of the residential sewer lines in use today were installed over one hundred years ago and require large amounts of jetting and root-cutting maintenance to function correctly.

If you experience a sewer backup, please call the Livingston Public Works Department first so that the sewer crew may check the mainline. You can read more about what can cause sewer backups and how to prevent them here: Sewer Service Information
