Serving on a city board or commission is a great way for our citizens to become involved in our local government. The following boards and commissions have current openings.

Historical Preservation Commission

Members should have the following:

  1. Professional expertise in the disciplines of history, planning, archeology, architecture, architectural history, historic archeology, or other historic preservation-related disciplines such as cultural geography or cultural anthropology.
  2. Locally licensed contractor.

Term

  1. All appointments to the HPC shall be made by the Chair of the City Commission and approved by the City Commission.

     2. The terms of the HPC members shall be for three (3) years.

Eligibility to Serve

To be eligible for an appointment, volunteers must have an interest in or knowledge of the committee’s subject matter. Volunteers should also be available to meet at the committee’s regular meeting time, and meet other general qualifications as an appointed representative including:

  • a U.S. citizen who is at least 18 years of age
  • a qualified elector
  • a resident of the County and State for at least 30 days, and a City of Livingston resident
  • a non-felon
  • of sound mind.
