Community Paramedic Program
A new Community Paramedic program in 2023 to address key health and safety needs across the community. The field of community paramedicine, or Community Integrated Health/Mobile Integrated Health (CIH/MIH) is a growing specialty across the U.S., designed to address health needs in a flexible way that will focus on proactive, preventative approaches to healthcare and mental health, while reducing unnecessary emergency room and 911 ambulance visits, for non-emergency medical services.  This program is the first of its kind in Montana and displays a cutting-edge service model. This is designed to address the major medical gaps typically overlooked that fall between the unobtainable doctor's visits, the hospital ER which may not qualify the injury or illness for the visit, 911-ambulance for the same reason, but still needs to be addressed by a medical professional.  Such examples may include; mother/baby newborn-well visits, vaccinations, medication compliance and adherence, coagulation samples or blood glucose blood test monitoring, blood pressure screenings, cardiac monitoring, hospice or home health interface, complex wound care, and preventative health lifestyle asssitance just to name a few.
