The Livingston Building Department reviews plans and performs inspections using the International Code Council's International Building Code (IBC) and International Residential Code (IRC). These codes are updated and re-adopted approximately every three years.
In order to obtain a building permit, you will need to submit a completed application along with plans and specifications sufficient to determine that the project complies with the effective codes.
Permit fees are based upon the cost of your project. The fee for a project is determined using this chart. A plan review fee of 65% is added to all projects valued at over $15,000.
