Manager's Message

Thank you to all who participated in the busy schedule of public meetings this month! We had some great conversations about downtown housing and masterplans this week. Please stay tuned for additional opportunities to participate as we continue the Growth Policy implementation in the coming weeks and months!

You may have missed it but, on March 7, the City Commission approved a Memorandum of Understanding with the 4 Ranges Community Recreation Foundation Inc. to evaluate opportunities for a new recreation and wellness center in the City of Livingston. Throughout April and May, the City and Foundation will conduct a series of public meetings and surveys to gather input on the project. The meetings will help shape the project by providing the community's feedback on important topics including amenities that the community would like to see in the building and where they'd like to see it built! All of this will help the team craft a project that truly benefits the community and is a resource for generations to come. I hope you will participate in our surveys and gatherings to help make this a project that we can all support!

City News

Calling All Northside Tree Lovers! Once again, the City is partnering with the Park County Environmental Council for the Livingston Loves Trees program in 2023. The plantings are expected to occur in early May. As we look to ensure that trees are planted across the City, the program is in need of north side tree adopters! So, if you're north of the tracks and interested in caring for a tree, please visit Livingston Loves Trees website and click the "Adopt a Tree" button on the bottom of the page.

BRINGING BETTER HEALTHCARE TO OUR COMMUNITY

Livingston Fire and Rescue has partnered with MT DPHHS Community Integrated Health (CIH) Program, to bring area residents a new resource: The Community Paramedic Program.

Similar to the old days of doctors making house calls, Community Paramedicine connects underutilized resources with underserved populations, filling critical gaps in the care of our community members.

The Program utilizes paramedics to provide guidance and care while helping residents become more independent from the emergency system and to use locally available resources. Leading to better outcomes for our community members.

Community Paramedic Program: Target Patient Populations
  • High Emergency Room (ER) System Utilizers — designed to help patients who are high utilizers of the 911 system/ERs. The program provides education and connects the patient with resources available in the community.
  • Mental Health or Substance Abuse Issues — identifying patients who would be better served outside the emergency room setting and redirecting these individuals to the appropriate community resource(s) and helping with proper medication management.
  • Diabetic Patients — Provide glucose monitoring, nutritional, and disease management education to diabetic patients to prevent unnecessary Emergency Department / EMS utilization.
  • Frequent Falls — helping mitigate fall risks by performing in-home safety assessments and fall prevention education.
  • Cardiac Care/ Chronic Respiratory Conditions — helping monitor blood pressure, manage medication compliance, nutrition, and education for patients who are diagnosed with cardiac issues/congestive heart failure or other chronic respiratory conditions.
Anyone can enroll. Individuals who might be interested in learning more about this new resource, or signing up, can do so on the city webpage www.livingstonmontana.org/fireandrescue  or by calling Brianna Caron at Livingston Fire and Rescue at (406) 222-2061 or emailing bcaron@livingstonmontana.org
