The Livingston Depot Foundation was organized in the spring of 1985 to carry out a proposal for the city's historic depot building, transforming it into a multi-purpose complex including an exhibition center and museum. The Depot operates as a museum during the height of the tourist season from, late-May through the end of September.
The Depot Center has also emerged as a leader in the community for many performing and visual arts and educational events. The Depot hosts an annual Festival of the Arts held each summer in the Depot-Rotary Park and featuring artists from all over the Pacific Northwest. "The Big Railroad Blues Festival" is the highlight of our summer event season along with our "Movies on the Lawn" film event sand monthly educational outreach programs. When the museum does not have an exhibition in place, the facility hosts events for various social, philanthropic, and business purposes, including dances, wedding receptions, art auctions, concerts, plays and lectures.
Signature Depot events include: our midwinter Bridge, Pinochle and Bridge Night, spring and fall Blues Concerts, The Livingston Railroad Show and Swap Meet and our annual Wine and Beer tasting festival. These events make use of the historic facility and bring new audiences to appreciate the award-winning historic preservation of the beautiful building.
