The City of Livingston is pleased to announce that Tom Bergsing is our new Risk Management Safety Officer. If your company expects to excavate in the street, alley or sidewalk, curb, gutter or boulevard you will need to call Tom Bergsing at 222-1142. A street opening permit application will need to be filled out and required insurance papers will need to be presented. Tom will then visit the job site before you excavate and provide you with the cost and a permit to be displayed at the jobsite. There is a $500 fine associated with right of way excavations that do not obtain a permit. Please remember to call before you start to excavate and avoid unneeded expenses!
