Parks & Trails Committee

The Parks and Trails Committee was determined to be a permanent committee on February 20, 2013 at the City Commission meeting.  Resolution No. 4344.

Parks and Trails Committee Priorities for 2017

  1. Construct sidewalk/trail along Park Street between O Street and Veterans Bridge
  2. Support new Skate Park Development and relocation near Civic Center
  3. Pursue opportunities for safe routes extending from Civic Center to Park High School, Baseball Complex, Pool and Sacajawea Park around the Lagoon
  4. Review opportunities for new neighborhood trail/park area N. 10th Street area
  5. Install outside water fountain near Civic Center
  6. Pursue opportunity to develop a covered picnic area near Sacajawea Statue
  7. Replace stacked up concrete parking stops at triangle garden/flag pole near levy
  8. Address issues of broken glass, rusted metal around boat launch and bench sites at Mayors Landing (former landfill exposure issue)
  9. Clarify boundaries, access and opportunities to improve public area by City Transfer Station
  10. Continue working with Girl Scouts on trespass issue at Mayors Landing/Moja Dog Park, identify possible opportunities for M Street access across creek
  11. Continue exploring opportunities to develop a trail connection Sacajawea Park, Miles Park and Mayors Landing
Long Term:
A. Plan how to address challenges associated with developing the area around the Civic Center (drainage issues and connecting City Sewer)
B. Extend Bozeman Trail connector to other nearby trails
