Livingston Fire & Rescue
On behalf of Fire Chief Alan Davis and the officers and firefighters of the Livingston Fire Department, we welcome you to our website. We hope this site is useful in answering any questions you may have. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or if we can assist you in any way.
Livingston is located 50 miles from the entrance to Yellowstone National Park in magnificent Park County. We are home to approximately 7,500 city residents and our ambulance service covers nearly 2,200 square miles. Livingston's first major blaze occurred in 1883, when fire destroyed an abandoned building and endangered other buildings in the new city. The fire forced the demolition of two neighboring structures to prevent the spread of the conflagration. Six days later the "Livingston Hook and Ladder Co." formed. In 1894 the city hired it's first paid firefighter and acquired a horse drawn hose and ladder wagon. The horse drawn wagons were faithfully pulled by "Bob" and "Major", whose names are on our engine and truck to this day. In 1897 Livingston chartered it's first organized volunteer fire department. In 1992 the City of Livingston approved the implementation of an ambulance service. It began as a basic service and has grown to 14 paramedics, 4 EMT Intermediate's and 8 EMT basic providers.
Currently Livingston Fire & Rescue has a combination department consisting of 15 full time paid personnel and 15 part-time reserves. We provide 24/7 fire protection and advanced life support paramedic ambulance service. We work closely with all county agencies to provide seamless service to those who live, work and visit our wonderful area.

The City of Livingston Fire and Rescue has purchased a new Ambulance. Pictured below with the new Ambulance is Captain Andy Marlowe, Chief Davis and Fire Inspector, Jeff Schoenen.
