Michael J. Kardoes - City Manager
Michael Kardoes is originally from Titonka, Iowa. He is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy with a B.S. in Computer Science. He holds Masters of Science degrees in both Computer Systems Administration and Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Information Systems. He is currently enrolled in a Master of Public Administration program.
Mike serves as the City Manager for the City of Livingston, Montana. He oversees the daily operations of the City and enforces the policies adopted by the five City Commissioners. His duties include supervising all City departments, preparing an annual budget, and appointing employees.
Prior to his current position, City Manager Kardoes served 23 years in the United States Air Force as a UH-1N "Huey" pilot. His duty stations include Cheyenne, WY, Minot, ND, Great Falls, MT, and Washington D.C. Mike has served as a Squadron Operations Officer, Squadron Commander, Legislative Liaison to the U.S. House of Representatives, Director of the Operations Division of the Air Force District of Washington and Deputy Group Commander and has been deployed to Al Udeid, Qatar and Shindand, Afghanistan. His awards include the Bronze Star, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, and Humanitarian Service Medal.
City Manager Kardoes has over 20 years of leadership experience in Nuclear Security, Search and Rescue Operations and International Advising along with supervising budget development and execution, long-term planning, and staff development.
